As expected, the market moved lower before we could celebrate our first $1M net worth month.
We moved a chunk of equities in our brokerage account to cash on 4/2 so that our 0% car loan is offset by equal cash earning 5.25%. After the Q1 market run up (and since we "timed" the market by opting for a loan instead of selling stocks in the depths of a bear market) we decided to take chips off the table and enjoy the interest on cash from here out. Now the car loan is paid directly from our cash each month.
Sure this is market timing, but after already enjoying 25% gains, I am comfortable taking the bird in the hand of 5% interest rates. We will not be selling any other equities though.
