Notes:
I have decided officially to plunge into individual stocks! Initial $5000 starting pool, let's see where it goes from here. Other assets is an un-cashed medical re-imbursement. I discovered that my insurance company didn't get the news that I had moved back in 2008. So, my check was sent to my old address. I had to wait 30 days to have a new check mailed to my new address (company policy). Currently I am awaiting the check to arrive sometime before October 28. Interesting story: I also received a $50 mail-in rebate from Bausch & Lomb for buying a 1 year supply of contact lenses. I never have luck with mail-in rebates. I usually send it away, never hear anything, and never see a check. However, Bausch and Lomb sent me an email saying they had received the rebate form. A few weeks later after 'processing' they sent another email saying the check was in the mail. A few days later a check arrived in the mailbox for $50. Success! I can't believe I got the check (A) at all... and (B) before my insurance reimbursment. I give Bausch and Lomb an A+ for their rebate service.
