| 07/07/2003 - Sold my condo in June for $100,000 profit. Unreal. I bought this condo back in 2000 for about $60k, and just sold it for $155k.
Something was just didn't seem right about selling the place at such a profit. The condo itself is ok, but the neighborhood is pretty bad. There are gangs right up the street - I've heard gunshots on more than one occasion. To add to the beauty of the location, right across the street there is an auto-body shop, where the occasional banged up car is dropped off in the middle of the night. In back of the condo is a highway - always nice in the summer when the Harleys are driving by at 2AM.
Typically I keep Real Estate off the books, with the thought that one needs a place to live. However, in this case I sold the condo and pocketed the cash. Instead of buying another place I am moving into my fiance's house. My fiance owns half of a two family house with her sister. I plan to pay her half of the mortgage and have her pay the utilities.
