| I've officially begun winding up my interest in my law firm. It looks like a liquidation value is about $7 million, or $4 million after-tax, so that's what I'll use for now since it's looking like that is what will happen. Also, if there is a buy-out, I think it's likely to have roughly the same net outcome (i.e., ordinary income rates versus LTCG). Anyway, I am very excited for the next chapter, but it looks like it will be about 9 to 18 months before I'll be in a position to actually move ... also, for what it's worth, since prior months had a pre-tax value for the business, it actually looks like I was reasonably accurate on the value leading up to this event. |
