Notes:
In spite of the continuing monthly decline in home value, my net worth finally, FINALLY crossed into the positive!!! WOW!!! I am so fired up about that! On the bottom of my debt snowball chart that I keep is the quote "Everything yields to diligence." So true! It's been a long road, and I especially look forward to getting those student loans down to ZERO probably by the end of the summer at this rate. That will be such a huge relief and a load off of my shoulders. Can't wait to taste that freedom. I'm grateful to this site for helping me track my progress and keeping me going, even when the net worth hit serious lows due to the housing bust and high student loan balances. Just being able to look back at how much total debt I had when I started and how it has decreased over two - three years inspired me. I knew that if I kept plugging away at debt payoff, things would HAVE to get better EVENTUALLY!! Can't wait to see where I am in a year when I am putting the maximum allowable contribution into my 401(k) and have a 6 month emergency fund. Let the good times roll!! The goals for 2011 (Update): 1.) Continue my snowball to pay off the Student Loans by year end. -- ON TRACK for SEPT payoff. -- 2.) Modest rental increase for roommate whose been at the same rent for 3 years. -- DONE! Increase of $50 as of March 1, 2011 -- 3.) Back to 10% gross into my 401 (k). -- DID THIS, BUT BACK TO 5% WHICH GETS 5% MATCH FROM CO; REST TO SNOWBALL FOR 'GAZELLE INTENSITY'. -- 4.) Add to monthly income through sibling contributions to assist with room and board for parents staying in the house. -- NOTHING FROM THE SIBS BUT THE PARENTS OFFERED TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION DUE TO ONE GETTING EMPLOYMENT; TOOK THEM UP ON IT IN APRIL FOR THE FIRST TIME -- 5.) Find additional income streams. --WORKING ON THIS...-- ------------------------------------------------ Home value is updated monthly from Zillow.com/Zestimate (Purchase price was $370K in August 2006). Other Mortgage = HELOC/2nd Mortgage
