Notes:
Given that I am using a number of tools that automatically tabulate my networth, I am getting worse and worse about coming on here to do a manual entry. I'd say the only reason I still do it is that I have a record on here stretching over 6 years back and sometimes I like to look back and marvel at how far I've come. I did get a small raise, and am back up to maxing out my 401(k) at $17.5K for the year, as well as maxing out the ROTH. In addition, I have re-set up automatic payments directly from payroll to 1.) Dream Fund (new term for old e-fund), 2.) New Car Fund, and 3.) Escrow fund. So, there is a lot of automated saving and investing going on, and I feel good about that. The small raise has helped alleviate the impact of that on the take-home pay. I am also making about 3 times the minimum payment on the HELOC. I am still without a new roommate(s) and/or side-gig. I would really be flying if I did those things, but I am happy with the disciplined approach I am currently taking to saving/investing and reducing expenses quite radically. i.e. I finally cancelled my satellite TV!!! What a WASTE of money!!! when they put my bill up to $97 for my basic package, I was DONE! I barely watched 5 channels on there, and even that always felt like a pure waste of time. The few shows I do enjoy on cable, I will watch online or download from iTunes. Maybe I'll do NetFlix one day too. I have also slashed my electric bill by cooling only when it gets very hot, otherwise using open windows, ceiling fans, or hanging out in the (finished) basement where is it naturally very cool. I've cut my electric bill in HALF!! So amazed and wish I had done so many of these things earlier! Guess I'd rather live frugally than sweat out another job especially when I am already worked to the bone on my main one. That being said, I am still open to and contemplating another roommate and/or the right side-hustle. That's all for July/August! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Home value is updated monthly from Zillow.com/Zestimate (Purchase price was $370K in August 2006). Other Mortgage = HELOC/2nd Mortgage
