Got promoted this week, with a nice raise to go with it. Sadly, my health is a big question mark - I'm getting by, but have very little visibility into the future. It could be bad - I could need to go on disability at some point down the road...
Whatever the case, we continue to plow ahead on paying off the house. We got a check for $5k from my mother - which we believe is part of some inheritance money she recently received. All of this is headed towards the mortgage. We are on track to have the house paid off in the Summer of 2017, but I am seriously considering tapping into savings to bring the pay off date into 2016.
Additionally, with the medical situation what it is, we may need to look into setting up a trust to protect the house from medical bills.
Ugh!
