52/48 stock/bond allocation. Shiller PE still seems really high, but I'm going to pinch my nose and slowly make my way to a 60/40 end allocation. Feels cowardly, but I'm completely debt free and my monthly expenses are negligible. If you've won the game, stop playing, right?
Lots of spending this month between tuition payments and a splendid vacation climbing fjords in Norway. This was the first vacation my wife and I have taken without our girls since their birth. They're both tied up in college now, which was kinda sad, but also very liberating to act like a young couple again. Total cost for ten days climbing and hiking in Norway, AirBnB, car, food, and first class airline tickets (splurge for my wife, and by far the highest cost item) was only $7K....pleasingly affordable, especially in a high cost country like Norway. Using this number as a proxy, we're already targeting our next climbing adventure in Europe (probably Switzerland, but open to any suggestions!). |
