Spent $120 on a car repair, and they have another recommended repair about $400. I had the engine rebuilt 2 years ago and it's having problems. I'm thinking about buying a newer car soon. That might happen in the next month or two, even though I really don't want to that soon. I need to have reliable transportation (live in the city, work in the suburbs) and with my car I'm supposed to avoid traffic as much as possible because the engine doesn't like sitting in stop-go traffic. I'll probably look for something in the $8-10k range, put about $3k down, and take out a 3-year loan for the rest. Haven't decided for sure but I've been debating this plan for a while now.
