| Boyfriend and I have agreed that for now, I'll pay rent and he pays all other household bills and expenses (groceries, etc.). The only "gray area" is household things, namely things I want/think we should have but he thinks we don't need (ie curtains). At the end of our lease if we stay together/plan to get married then it doesn't matter anyway if things don't end up even, and if we split up then we'll just calculate what he would owe me at that point and he'll write me a check. As with last year, he keeps cash in our small "safe" at home, and if I pay for things in his "categories" I can take cash from there at any point to reimburse myself, and let him know if the cash is getting low. |
