Spent a LOT of cash last month when we finally filed taxes - $12k federal, $2k state, and $650 local. Where I live doesn't have local taxes. The city I work in does require local taxes for anyone who lives or works there, but nonresidents can track the days not in the office and pay for only the % of income earned in the city. Since I'm probably WFH the rest of the year, and 2019 taxes also included a Q1 estimate for 2020, I probably won't owe anything else for this year. Also no local tax on investment income (we sold a lot of investments last year to pay cash for our house) since it's not earned at the office.
Also had to get a new fridge (1500) and property taxes were due today (1750). So it's been an expensive month. |
