2022 Wrap Up: Savings: $12k to 2 Roths $5.5k to 401(k) $7k to HSA $8k to 529s (my state's max tax deduction is $4k/kid) $5k to post-tax brokerage acct For a total of $37.5k on ~$110 income And net worth still went down vs LY. Ugh. Total spending was right around $70k. (Of which, $14k was daycare costs! Part-time!! for two kids, and most of it at an in-home daycare. I expect $17-$20k in 2023 since the older one will be doing preschool at a center 3 days/week now.)

Really like your investment strategy comment. I know how you feel. I dreamed of being rich as a kid but had no real idea how it would feel to be secure in knowing that as long as a person works hard with a little luck they can afford anything. Modesty is very helpful to of course. I'm lucky I never had to pay for childcare. That would be a large chunk towards vacations etc.
