Notes:
So a few interesting things transpired during the month of May. First off was an unexpected but welcome purchase of a camera lens, a model I've wanted for a while but due to the steep cost never found an excuse to buy it (until the upcoming solar eclipse this summer). Despite being my most expensive piece of glass to date, there was zero buyer's remorse. Usually I'll get that "what have I done" twinge when spending 4 figures on anything, but not this time. Then again Paypal Credit was used, taking advantage of their "no payment for 6 months" offer, so it probably hasn't really hit me yet. Regardless it's a business expense in addition to an overall investment. It won't be losing much value any time soon. Also, in addition to becoming a Costco member for the first time, I opened up a new credit card account, the Costco Anywhere Visa, mostly for dining, groceries, and travel. I've had my other personal credit card for 20+ years, but unfortunately it has minimal benefits (no rewards or points), so some monthly spending will be transitioned over to the Costco Visa for those % cash back promotions. Obviously with a 20-year history I have no intentions of closing the old credit card, and will still use it on occasion as necessary, and will also continue to pay off all cards in full every month to maximize the benefits. Finally, the Hawaii trip has arrived and ready for liftoff. With the exception of baggage fees (ugh) all travel expenses have already been paid off, and a travel budget has been allocated for food, souvenirs, and entry fees. I haven't done a solo trip in almost 10 years, so it should be good times. Movin' on up...
