The last 30 days were a bit dodgy as far as markets go, definitely points of instability which can make investors particularly nervous. But it could have been worse I suppose. Looks like I'll be waiting another month for the next net worth milestone, if the mythical "sell May go away" thing doesn't transpire of course.

Despite a 10-day vacation out of state and a new BBQ grill for the house, expenses remained largely in check for April. I did have to pony up federal taxes and the annual life insurance premium, plus I decided to get it over with and transfer the last of my 20% contribution goal to the brokerage (since 5% money market rates still persist), which means I'm technically done saving for 2024.

I could always put in more if necessary. but I'm seeing impending rumors for the new "toys" that's part of the upgrade path. Actual purchases are still months away, but with the amount of cash on hand, this shouldn't be an issue. I continue to play it safe in case my vehicle breaks down unexpectedly and need to make a quick decision. Let's see if I can make it work until then!
