Notes:
Real estate "appreciation" has helped boost our net worth a lot. Received an end of the year bonus, which helped cash position. Will probably hold it in cash (despite inflation), because income may be unstable the first half of 2022 due to promotion to equity partner, which involves a different pay structure and a capital contribution requirement.

Overall, 2021 was a good year financially (at least on paper). I am worried about the future of our economy and our country to be perfectly honest, but I'm hopeful that 2022 will be another good year financially for us.

I've heard that the citizens of the Weimar Republic, especially those that owned assets, thought they were getting rich before everyone eventually realized they were screwed. I wonder if that's similar to what we're experiencing?
