About Me
I despise corporate America and all of its life-sucking ways. The end goal is to figure out a way to exit it in order to embark on my next life adventure, which is sadly TBD no matter how hard or lax I contemplate it.
Why I Joined
I like tracking various life stats.
Best Financial Decision
Buying a foreclosure and putting in sweat equity. Ditto on the second home.
Worst Financial Decision
Boredom shopping.
Current Investing Strategy
Save as much as we can while spending money more strategically to try and optimize contentment now versus saving it all for later.
How do you manage your finances?
Mostly spreadsheets and Mint. Now that we've decided to go more heavy on real estate by keeping our first home as a rental, which is a straight-forward business, most of our capital management is through work-sponsored 401ks.
What tools do you use?
Mint, spreadsheets, Fidelity, Wells Fargo.
I need financial help with...
Alternative investments and passive income, plus the motivation to continually focus on such things.
Favorite Books
The Art of Happiness, Stop Worrying and Start Living, Wool, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Calvin and Hobbes
Favorite Movies
Godfather I+II, Indiana Jones I+III, Back to the Future I+II+III, Happy Gilmore, Dumb and Dumber, The Prestige, Christian Bale Batman I+II+III
