Notes:
We are officially debt free after cashing in some bond mutual funds and paying off our mortgage and HELOC in December (Merry Christmas to us)!

Assets do NOT include $83,900 that we have in our kids' RESP for University; or $69,500 that is put aside in our oldest daughter's RDSP.

Congrats!!! I've been debating on paying off the mortgage in the next couple years. Did you have a particular savings goal/number you wanted to hit before paying off the mortgage?

Thanks! No, no real savings goal in mind before we decided to pay the mortgage off. We had a bunch of money invested in bond index funds and we decided it wasn't very smart to have the money sitting in bonds at a lower yield than what our mortgage interest rate was. So, we decided to cash in all of the bond funds and use the proceeds to pay off all of our debt.
