Our total net worth is off due to DOW was off again 1.5% for the month and paying $40,000 in earnest money as we made an offer of $435,000 through Craig VanAusdall on a cabin on Duck Lake across the street from Paul's in Crosslake, MN on Sept 23, 2023 (closing is October 5, 2023) and the offer was accepted. On Sept 20, 2023, the day after it went up for sale, MS had called the real estate agent without talking to me! The asking price was $399,999 with 14 showings and they were cancelled as we were the first showing. Closing isn't until October 5, 2023, so that real estate is not reflected in this month's Net Worth. We are paying cash for the cabin using Erickson Inheritance and MS Iowa Heart Retirement. We were at Eagle Cliff the first half of the month. Had Craig, Cindi, Chase and Van and Lydia, Caleb and Thomas at Eagle Cliff over Labor Day. Brad and Jan visited us at EC also. Trip to CR for Alyas, Lydia and Thomas sports. I sent an email letter to staff this month that Brandon's is now the president and I'm Emeritus. We paid a bonus of $5000 to Emily Gregory for her hard work. We camped at Crosslake 10 days after two weeks at Eagle Cliff. Trip to GR and Duffney's at camp with us for corn dogs. MS shopping with Paul and Lyn as they remodel their cabin. We left Crosslake a couple days early from our normal 2 weeks there to go to Eagle Cliff and close out that place and sell it, which MS did within an hour or two of our starting to move. Stored EC things in a storage unit in Crosslake. Cindi, Craig, Emilie, Sean and Kelsey helped us unload everything. We rented a U-Haul 15' truck. Returned to EC for another load to take to Ames. Cleaned out EC place. Whew!
