Good work growing that NW! I was curious what philosophies you follow when it comes to personal finance. I am personally a cross between Dave Ramsey and the Money Guy Show philosophies. When looking at your account sheet I cant help but notice that you have 27K in cash and 19K in car loans. Just curious what is holding you back from paying off those cars and being done with those loans. Anyway, I appreciate your update as I like seeing others in the same NW range as myself, looking at 1-2-20 million account sheets is cool, but years away for myself. Its like watching those HDTV shows where they are buying homes, but for 5 million dollars, fun to see but I know I will never buy one. I like the episodes when they are buying a 200K home. lol. Good Luck!

HGTV shows*** I wish there was an "Edit Comment" function.

It looks like I have a lot of cash just lying around, but some of that cash is our emergency fund and other parts of it are savings for specific purchases that are being held in CD's that are paying 5%. Our car loan is at 2.49% and we could pay it off, but if we have a huge emergency, then we are screwed. It seems to be really good murphy repellent if you know what I mean. Additionally, 4K of that is going to be spent on an upcoming vacation. I like to splurge on those because I hate worrying if I can afford the food and activities I'm doing on vacation. That's just not relaxing to me. Whatever is left after the trip just rolls into the next one. I'm kind of a Dave Ramsey/Choose FI type philosophy. The Money guys have great advice too. I just haven't had much time to follow them. I read that HDTV as HGTV so my brain auto-corrected it without me noticing. LOL. I like that show and the other one that's a bad influence on me is "My Lottery Dream Home". It gets me playing the lottery more

I at least have a budget for the lottery and it's only after we've saved for retirement along with having all of the bills paid. It just speeds up the plan if we're every lucky enough to win. I'm not counting on it.
