Notes:
Some friends called, how about a trip next year to Ireland for a week? Sure! I can save enough over the next nine months or so. Of course, they need a good chunk of that up front, oh and the one car needed major repairs, then the other needed repairs, and I've still got to drop $2K if I want to get the glass enclosure up so I can actually take a shower in my new bathroom the contractor left undone (they went bankrupt by the way, so much for their "lifetime" warranty :-). And let's just tack on the holidays, whoo hoo! So cash got hammered. Debt is going down, but now slowed as I save for my trip, but not by much because I diverted college fund saving since my one child has decided to not attend for a semester between community college and four year. Now they pay rent as encouragement to continue their education. Sigh, I crack the one million mark and I don't feel any different. Still cash poor. But on the other hand, it's nice to finally see seven figures on the net worth even if it doesn't last that long.

Congrats. Don't talk it down. It's a really nice psychological barrier to push through. Pause and have a swig of the good ol' Guinness. It's on me (:-:). I'm in a constant struggle to balance my desire to travel Europe (and Africa and Australia and South America) right now with my desire to attain early Financial Independence. Any word?

Thanks for the encouragement. Slow and steady is getting me there and the plan is working, but like many things it's hard to appreciate when you feel like you are in the thick of it. But I am glad we are there, and the next two goals are to grind down the debt and get liquid assets to $1M.
