About Me |
Typical family guy now in my 60's. Post college years with the kids now grown but some still struggling, COVID nearly destroyed some of them financially |
Why I Joined |
To compare myself to like minded folks and to let me see my networth every quarter. Sometimes we forget how far we've come. |
Best Financial Decision |
Putting money away into the retirement account from an early age and treating it as untouchable. |
Worst Financial Decision |
A family vacation to Europe. Done for all the right reasons but not one of those was financial. |
Current Investing Strategy |
Index funds have served me well, got me through the kid's college years. Now trying to build up some cash buffers and create some new income streams. Learning all about taxes, Roth conversions, Medicare, etc. for my situation to help with my withdraw strategy. Hoping to put "retired" under occupation in three years regardless of what the market or economy is looking like. |
How do you manage your finances? |
Probably too conservatively. I use home grown spreadsheets generally. |
